Query
A question that Fond asks AI assistants for you, written the way a shopper asks it. Fond measures every visibility, share of voice and competitor figure over your queries.
A query is one question that Fond asks AI assistants for you, written the way a shopper asks it. An example is "best running shoes for flat feet". Fond cannot see what real people type into an assistant. So your queries are the sample for every visibility, share of voice and competitor figure.
Your query bank
The queries of a website, on the Queries page, are its query bank. Fond writes the first set at setup. Then you add, edit, archive and import queries, and every change applies from the next run.
- A change to the wording creates a new query and archives the old one, so each wording keeps its own history.
- Fond does not ask an archived query. If you restore it, Fond asks it again from the next run.
- Your plan sets how many queries a website can track. Above that, Fond asks the queries added first and marks the rest Not being asked.
How queries are grouped
Each query is in a tier, and it can belong to a topic cluster that you give it. Fond reports share of voice by tier and by cluster.
A query that names a brand is solicited for that brand, so it is not in the organic visibility of that brand.
How it differs from related terms
A run is one pass over your queries, which gives each query that is being asked a new set of answers.

Organic visibility
How often a brand comes up in AI answers to queries that did not name it. Branded and comparison queries cannot inflate it. n/a means there was nothing to measure, usually because every query named the brand.
Run
One pass over your queries. A run usually asks every query that is being asked, of every assistant that is on, as many times as your repetitions setting says. Pages show the latest run that finished with an answer.
